Nawazuddin plays Ramanna, a serial killer who is said to be inspired by the infamous serial killer Raman Raghav from the 1960s. Vicky Kaushal plays police officer Raghavan, with whom the serial killer appears to be obsessed. 

  • Badlapur

Raghav, also known as Raghu (Siddiqui), is a simple, innocent man whose life is turned upside down when his family gets killed in a bank robbery. Devastated by the loss, he embarks on a lethal game of vengeance in order to bring justice to his family. Varun Dhawan, Yami Gautam, Radhika Apte, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta, and Vinay Pathak play prominent roles in the film.

  • Manto

Manto is a biographical drama written and directed by Nandita Das that is based on the life of a famous Urdu writer and author, Saadat Hasan Manto. The film, set in the 1940s, stars Nawazuddin as Manto and narrates various events in his life before and after the partition. Particularly when Manto moved to Pakistan in 1948. Rasika Duggal, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and Rajshri Deshpande also play important roles in the film.

The film, directed by Abhijit Panse, is a biopic about Balasaheb Thackeray. This controversial political drama stars Nawazuddin in the titular role as the founder of the Shiv Sena and follows his journey from a controversial cartoonist to a powerful politician. It is the first time in Siddiqui’s acting career that he has agreed to play a comic role. Ghoomketu is based on the story of an aspiring novice writer from a small town who runs away to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. The film also has cameos by Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, and Amitabh Bachchan.
